Fil-Am Spring Fest 2026 Draws More Than 20,000 Attendees in Northern Virginia

Largest-ever Fil-Am Spring Fest welcomes families, small businesses, community leaders, and supporters from across the region

FAIRFAX, VA — More than 20,000 attendees gathered at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax, Virginia, on Saturday, May 30, for Fil-Am Spring Fest 2026, making it the largest Fil-Am Spring Fest since the festival was established in 2023.

The free festival brought together families, local businesses, community organizations, sponsors, volunteers, and visitors from across the DMV for a day of food, culture, entertainment, and community celebration.

The event featured 141 vendors, exhibitors, sponsors, and community organizations, filling the festival grounds to capacity. Attendees enjoyed Filipino and international cuisine, live performances, cultural presentations, community dancing, family activities, and shopping from a wide variety of businesses and organizations.

Among the event’s distinguished guests were Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez, U.S. Senator Mark Warner, and Maryland Delegate Kris Valderrama. All three addressed attendees from the main stage and joined the community in celebrating Filipino heritage and the contributions of Filipino Americans. Ambassador Romualdez’s participation held added significance as Filipino communities around the world prepare to commemorate the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.

One of the day’s highlights came when Ambassador Romualdez and Senator Warner joined festival participants in a lively Tinikling demonstration, drawing cheers from the crowd.

“This event is more than just a festival,” said Joyce Puno, Chairperson and CEO of Fil-Am FEST Inc. “Our team worked hard to create a safe and welcoming space where people could reconnect with their roots, experience the beauty of Filipino culture, support one another, and celebrate community together. Seeing families, businesses, volunteers, performers, and community leaders come together with such joy and generosity was truly encouraging.”

Proceeds from the event help support the humanitarian work of Fil-Am FEST Inc., including poverty alleviation efforts in partnership with International Care Ministries, future meal-packing initiatives addressing food insecurity, disaster relief efforts, and other programs serving vulnerable communities.

The festival also hosted a community blood drive in partnership with Inova Blood Donor Services, welcoming 36 blood donors. Fil-Am FEST Inc. also recognizes Toby’s Homemade Ice Cream & Coffee for generously providing complimentary scoops of ice cream to blood donors as a way of encouraging community participation in the blood drive.

The festival also provided local businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans, service providers, and nonprofit organizations with an opportunity to introduce their products, services, and missions to thousands of attendees throughout the day.

Attendees expressed appreciation for both the festival experience and its sense of community.

One attendee wrote, “Not me getting emotional over Filipino food, music, and seeing the community show up like this.”

Another described it as “one of the best festivals I’ve been to in the DMV,” praising the atmosphere, vendor selection, and sense of community.

Now in its second year at Fair Oaks Mall and fourth year overall, Fil-Am Spring Fest continues to grow as one of the region’s largest Filipino cultural celebrations.
